Ya gotta love dis job, mon. . . We be reviewin' de Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum today. Dis be a very good rum indeed. We reviewed 'bout 3/4 o' de bottle so far an' I can say wit' a great deal of certainty it be the same rhum at de bottom o' de bottle as it was at de top, mon. Whobody would'a thought!
Tommy has dis made in Barbados an' aged in oak barrels three years. It have a kinda dry feel in de mouth an' de aroma of vanilla. Not overly sweet but reminds me of fruit. It be good straight on de rocks, mon. Great in a Daiquiri!!!
Here be some fer me wife, Rumcake. She be likin' de fruit flavor rhum like Malibu for what seems forever, mon. She be a big fan o' de Tortuga folks.
We review de Mango Rum from Tortuga an' Calico Jack. Both of deese be sweet, sticky, 'bout 20% rhums good fer breakfast or daiquiris, mon.
Mango Jack be imported from whobody knows where and mixed by White Rock Distilleries, I t'ink in Maine. It have a nice mango aroma an' taste. 'Cause it be so sweet I be t'inkin' it need orange juice or somet'ing else tart to offset dat.
Tortuga Mango be mostly produced in Barbados and blended wit' some other island rhums in de Cayman Islands. It also have de nice mango aroma & flavour. It have a bit of a bite an' dis makes it a good mix wit' de lemon-lime soda, as well as various fruit juices.
As a side note deese rhums could be tossed in de Island Rhum Punch wit' some of dem "white" or "light" rhums to enhance de aroma.
Both Tortuga an' 'Jack come in other flavors dat I be guessin' you lady friend be cravin'. 'Jack be available in de US. Tortuga be one fer you cruise shippers to look fer at de duty free shop when you not be in de jewelry shops in Georgetown, Grand Cayman.
